Stone Island Sound Embarks on a New Decade of Musical Exploration and Cultural Innovation.
The esteemed Italian fashion brand Stone Island is poised to embark on a new chapter in its musical journey, celebrating the evolution of its Stone Island Sound project. Embracing the brand’s ethos of "Community as a Form of Research," this initiative will feature a dynamic curation of soundscapes by a rotating roster of cultural luminaries.
The latest manifestation of this project will debut with the return of the Stone Island Stage at the forthcoming C2C festival in Turin, Italy, from October 31st to November 3rd. The lineup sees an eclectic array of talent set to perform, including A.G. Cook, Billy Woods, Yaeji, and John Glacier; underscoring the brand's commitment to fostering diverse cultural expressions.
In addition to its longstanding association with C2C, the new era of Stone Island Sound will unfold via several interconnected avenues:
Stone Island_Factory is a quarterly playlist series, named for the seasons (Primavera, Estate, Autunno, and Inverno), and beginning with Autunno '024 (out now.) In addition, monthly Stone Island Sound_Curated By playlists will feature a revolving cast of friends of the brand sharing some of their favourite tracks. Inaugural selectors John Glacier and Yaeji’s picks are a great introduction to their own influences and inspirations, featuring the likes of Kano, Ghetts, Stemlines and more alongside the artist’s own tracks. Finally, Stone Island Sound_Live is a comprehensive catalogue of recordings of past live performances from STONE ISLAND SOUND and STONE ISLAND PRESENTS. Events will be available to play back on Apple Music and Spotify, showcasing artists such as Space Afrika and Tiga. Selected cuts from the archive are already available to dig into - a February 2024 live set from hip-hop pioneers Large Professor and Boogie Blind is a great place to start.
